MUSIC
is a sound journey, inspired by the beautiful feeling I get in spring when my feet are no long constrained to bulky boots or shoes. Finally when spring creeps up, my feet are free to the air with nothing but a bit of rope between them and our mother earth. The album itself tells a story, each song leading to the next. Poetry, i find, is the best way to help make sense of it all.
Poem.
We must be like a[1. Gentle Nomad]
Or the [2. Lost Woods] will take all we had
Fear not, [3. Swift Travels] are near
To find our [4. Calm Oasis] out here
The [5. Crackle] of fire, your feet's one desire
Feeling the [6. Sand Beneath Your] soul
Never could be brighter.
A poem to tell my tale of the album. and all double-purposing as a track too!

Feature improvised melodies from myself and the talented bassist Ryan Martini
Originally played in E minor, Gentle Nomad is a track composed with the idea of find our way though this world with a gentle touch. To not dive head first into every situation. During my wonderful weekend at Handpangea Farmington 2015, I had the pleasure to play this piece on a Pantheon Steel Halo, in the Golden Arcadia sound model. Everything is raised by a Major third, and giving the piece a softer, more gentle sound. And to my ears, this is the register this piece was made to be played in. Big thanks to Zachary Looney for the video work, Pierre Sauve for help us capture the true sound, and Sylvia for letting me play here beautiful new Halo!
Re-live part of my performance at the first annual Isthmus Instruments Handpan Gathering. This piece "Chant" was composed using Ableton software and loops, in which I develop the music live with multiple layers. This is the acoustic version I've been working on for my unplugged shows.
